If you're a brand, wholesaler, manufacturer or distributor who sells or markets cannabis products to retailers, here is a checklist of items for you to consider performing as you begin using the Lit Alerts data tool.
Set your state
Depending on your subscription, you may have access to multiple states within Lit Alerts. To select a state to work within, simply navigate to the state dropdown in the upper right corner and use the arrow to select the state. This will then adjust any data you're looking at in the tool to just focus on that state. This allows you to easily jump between markets.
Set up your brands
Find the Brands tab on the left navigation. Use the "+" icon to search and add any brands you'd like to track and review. Please note that any brand you add here will show up in your morning low inventory and out of stock emails. If you remove a brand, it will be removed from the morning email. There are no restrictions here. You can load up your own brands as well as competitors.
Notice any missing brands? Report it to support@litalerts.com. This is a very complex and messy dataset and feedback from the field is crucial in maintaining it's accuracy.
Review and familiarize yourself with the common screens through the app.
Locations gives you a break down of the current distribution in stores. You're provided with a map and list of stores that carry your product, used to carry your product, or don't carry your product.
Products is a simple table that shows menu listings. When accessing this screen in the Brands tab, is showcases the menu listings for a specific brand across all retailers in the state.
Activities is a simple table that gives you a feed of events our system is predicting in market including out of stock alerts, new product alerts and estimated sales. When accessing this screen in the Brands tab, this will filter for only those events for the selected brand.
Analytics rolls up the events from our predictive engine and provides you a filterable screen of tables that includes top performing retailers, pricing, category mix and trend line.
Track Specific Retailers
If you're interested in doing a deep dive on a specific retailer, whether they work with you or not, you can do so by using the Retailer tab in the left navigation. Similar to the Brand tab, you simply click on the "+" icon and then search for the retailer you'd like to see. Adding Retailers here does not affect your morning low quantity and out of stock emails.
If you're a rep for a specific market, this can be a really good place to load up your key accounts to easily be able to pull data like menu products, top brands, estimated sales and more.
Is there a store you are looking for that isn't in the tool yet? Report it to support@litalerts.com. We'll get back to you quickly either with a notice that we've added the retailer or with an explanation for why we currently can't access the location.
Set up your Store Locator
The Store Locator is an embeddable snippet of code or URL that can place on your brand website to easily show consumers where to purchase your products in the state. The locator does NOT have to be manually updated with retailers as it's based on our ability to crawl retailer websites and see active products in real time.
To set up the store locator, add the brand to your Brands tab and then visit the Store Locator tab in the left navigation. There, click on the dropdown and select the brand. This will populate a preview of the locator as it would appear on your website. Click the Show Embed Instructions and a pop up will give you two options: A snippet of HTML to drop on your website page and/or a dynamic URL, which can be good to use in marketing like social media or direct emails.
Finally, while there are a plethora of things you can look up and deep dive into with Lit Alerts, the above are Day 1 must dos to get the most out of the tool from the start. Keep exploring and reach out to us with any and all questions at support@litalerts.com.
